Here's our Spain vs Switzerland Prediction analysis: Spain vs Switzerland PredictionReturning to UEFA Nations League action this weekend, Spain continue their quest for qualification from the group phases when they lock horns with out-of-sorts Switzerland at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano on Saturday evening.
Match status: 2020 UEFA Nations League
Kick-off:
Venue: Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium (Madrid)
Thrust into Group A4 of the tournament – the ‘group of death’ – Spain have the uphill task of toppling the likes of Ukraine and Germany to advance to the finals. It goes without saying that they will have their work cut-out to upend this tricky oppositions.

Impressively, La Roja have already begun their campaign on the front foot, picking up four points from their first two games to occupy top-spot on the log. Expect another inspiring performance from Luis Enrique’s charges versus the Swiss come kickoff.

Spain vs Switzerland Team News

Since winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Spain’s decline has been steep and steady. With many of the players in that world-conquering squad already retired, La Roja have had to rebuild from scratch. It has been a huge challenge for them.

After floundering in recent tournaments, Spain seem to be finding their footing once again. In Group F of the Euros qualifiers, they breezed through the pack, winning eight of their ten fixtures to comfortable lead the table.

In inspired form, they never looked short-handed at any point in time, picking up a whopping 26 points. In the end, La Roja were five points clear of second-placed Sweden. Picking from where they left off, they headed into the Nations League campaign in tip-top form.

Squaring off against Germany in their opening fixture, the Red One dug really deep to salvage a point from under the noses of their stubborn foes. Given a tough game, Spain held their own until the final minute to secure a one-all draw.

Following that stalemate, Enrique’s charges took their game to the Ukrainians in matchday 2, overpowering the opposition very comfortably. Skipper Sergio Ramos leading the troops, Spain had their guns blazing, firing four unanswered goals past Pyatov in goal.

Now, they will have their sights set on back-to-back victories this weekend, but have Switzerland to deal with. Nati are not in the best of shapes at the moment, failing to secure a single win from their first two Nation League games.

Even against Ukraine, they were narrowly defeated via a 2-1-win margin. Playing much better in the subsequent fixture, Switzerland went on to hold Germany to a one-all draw – Widmer’s 57th minute strike salvaging a point for the Red Crosses.

Their start to the Nations League campaign has been baffling. For a side that easily championed Group D of the Euro qualifiers, you’d expect more from the Swiss. Hoping to put an end to their miserable three-game winless run, expect a strong showing from Petkovic’s men here.

Spain vs Switzerland Predictions

In something of a tailspin, Switzerland cannot squeeze out a win to save their lives. They were in friendly action against Croatia few days ago, falling to defeat at the hands of Zlatko Dalic’s men.

Though not entirely convincing in their games, Spain know how to kill off games. With the right mix of experience and talent in their ranks, expect La Roja to secure maximum points, sending them well-clear of the chasing pack in Group A4.
