Former Everton boss Ronald Koeman appointed to Netherlands manager job
The Netherlands have confirmed the appointment of former Everton and Southampton manager Ronald Koeman as their new head coach on a four-and-a-half-year deal, confirms SkySports.

Koeman has signed a contract until 2022, when the national team will hope to compete at the Qatar World Cup having failed to qualify for World Cup Russia 2018.

It is his 10th managerial post after spells in charge of Vitesse Arnhem, Ajax, Benfica, PSV Eindhoven, Valencia, AZ Alkmaar, Feyenoord, Southampton and Everton.

Koeman has been out of work since being sacked by Everton in October last year after a surprisingly poor start to the Premier League season and will take his first role international role since working as an assistant coach with the Dutch team in the late 1990s.

The 54-year-old will quickly be able to put his knowledge of the English game to the test with his first game as manager a friendly in Holland against Gareth Southgate’s England. The sides meet on Friday 23 March.
