Chelsea must have been relieved after their transfer ban was lifted and tactician Frank Lampard can now bolster his academy squad with established players. It is just what Chelsea needs in some quarters right now.

Slim margin defeats to Bournemouth and Southampton at home have not been erased by their most recent 2-0 win over minnows Nottingham. Forward Tammy Abraham is scoring the goals but Chelsea have been weak in sustaining leads and grinding out wins.

At home, the Blues have not been commanding 10 games in (W4 D2 L4) and only one in their last 5 home games have seen over 2.5 goals.

Visitors Burnley fare no better. The visiting side has only won two of their 10 away matches and a gargantuan opponent awaits in the form of Chelsea.

The fact that they have conceded 17 in the 10 home games only tells part of the story for a side only 4 points away from safety. They need the points here but Stamford Bridge is one difficult venue even for the best.
