Inter Milan complete the signing of Diego Godin in free transfer
Former Atletico Madrid defender has signed a three-year contract with Inter Milan, confirms Inter official website.
The 33-old Uruguay international will be staying at the Milan club until June 2022 after his contract with Atletico Madrid expired in June, and he will link up with Antonio Conte, who has come in to take charge of the Nerazzurri this summer.
Godin ended his nine years at the Madrid club, winning La Liga once, a Copa del Rey and two Europa League titles with also reaching two Champions League finals in between. He brings the experience and a top-drawer defender's qualities that Conte will try to strengthen his team with - who finished fourth in last season's Serie A.
When he was in Madrid, he had played 389 times for the club and is regarded as one of the most respectable players to have played for Atleti.
