Arsene Wenger's "Gunners" were unable to hold down Watford losing their first home fixture in 2017, and, as a consequence, Walter Mazzarri's "Hornets" have crushed the four-match winning streak and overall unbeaten run of seven matches that Arsenal had been gaining over a month, which dated from 26 December, 2016. That 1-2 defeat caused a slight alteration to their site in the standings, putting themselves below Tottenham who, despite two consecutive draws, ascended the runner-up spot not without help of a better goal difference.

Unlike London Arsenal, "The Blues" let the tie happen at Liverpool where Antonio Conte's men led the score by the well-done job executed by David Luiz from a free kick. Nonetheless, that small advantage for Londoners was equalized when Georginio Wijnaldum successfully accomplished a header that found the back of the net. After two goals the score stuck unchanged until the final whistle, which can be related to some good outcome for Conte right before the home scuffle against another destructive force in the face of Arsenal FC.

Arsenal will miss the presence of Santi Cazorla (suffers an achilles tendon injury), Aaron Ramsey who isn't fit yet, since he has picked up a calf injury, and Granit Xhaka whose appearance is suspended due to red card.
