Enjoying a blistering start to the season, Southampton look like a side gunning for some major honors. They have put forth strong performances in all their league matches, and are good value for their current respectable position on the log.

Though Ming, Watkins and Grealish got on the scoresheet after the hour-mark, the equalizer just never arrived as the Saints celebrated a 4-3 win at fulltime. Southampton cannot afford another shambolic second-half display if they are to see off Newcastle.

The Magpies are in decent form in the league, amassing 11 points from seven matches to occupy eleventh-place. They are only two points shy of matchday seven opposition, and victory here will see them leapfrog Soton on the standings.

Bruce’s men pulled off a shocking 2-1 win over Everton on the last matchday, condemning the Toffees to their second defeat this term. Newcastle were pretty good in that game, and fully deserving of all three points. Will we see another masterclass from the Magpies here? We’ll wait to find out.
