Here's our Iceland vs Belgium Prediction analysis: Iceland vs Belgium PredictionBelgium will look to get their quest to feature in next year’s Nations League finals back on track, when they travel to Reykjavik to take on Iceland in the latest round of international fixtures.
Match status: 2020 UEFA Nations League
Kick-off:
Venue: Laugardalsvöllur (Reykjavík)
The Belgian’s bid to finish top of Group 2 suffered a huge blow this weekend, as they suffered a disappointing 2-1 victory away at England. Nevertheless, the Red Devils are still very much in the race, and Roberto Martinez’s side clearly know what they must do to have a shot at glory in next year’s finals.

Nobody expected much from Iceland, heading into the Nations League playoff, and it is safe to say they haven’t disappointed on that front – or have they? The whipping boys of Group 2 currently sit rock bottom after three games, and have nothing, but pride left to play for at this stage.

Iceland vs Belgium Team News

Belgium fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to England in their last Nations League outing, in a result that could prove to have major consequences as the race to feature at the finals enters the decisive stage.

The Red Devils took an early lead via a Romelu Lukaku penalty, but were soon pegged by when Marcus Rashford converted a penalty of his own.
England then proceeded to take the lead via a Mason Mount goal in the second half, and despite Belgium’s best efforts, the Red Devils were unable to find a way back into the match.

Prior to this defeat, Belgium had picked up wins in each of their opening two fixtures, swatting both Iceland and Denmark apart in convincing fashion. The outcome of their last outing saw the Red Devils lose top spot, and they are now placed second on the Group 2 standings, one point behind England in first.

Belgium, with eight goals scored, are the top scorers in League A of the UEFA nations League, and with just eight goals conceded, have managed to keep things fairly tight at the back.

Iceland’s poor Nations League form continued as they suffered a 3-0 trashing at the hands of Denmark in their last competitive outing. As things stand, Iceland are bottom of Group 2 with 0 points, and are looking more likely than ever to be relegated to League B.

Both sides have faced twelve times in the past, and the results do not make very pleasant reading for Iceland fans. Belgium have come out on top in each of the previous 12 encounters, scoring 42 times and conceding just seven goals in the process.

The reverse fixture between Belgium and Iceland ended in a humiliating 5-1 defeat for the latter, and we might well be set to witness more of the same.
