One of the better sides in the country, Wolfsburg have always been in and around the top-seven mix for the last couple of years. Last season, Die Wolfe picked up a staggering 49 points from 34 games to finish seventh on the log, qualifying for the Europa League.

Last seen in action against Kukesi in a Europa League second qualifying round fixture on Thursday, Die Wolfe roared to an emphatic 4-0 victory. Clearly the better side all through the game, Wolfsburg easily brushed their weak opposition aside.

Weghorst was the cream of the crop for the Wolves, grabbing a brace to put Kukesi to the sword. Lacroix and Mehmedi also got in amongst the goals as the German side advanced to the third round. Returning to domestic action this weekend, they will have Leverkusen to contend with.

Leverkusen were in tip-top form last season, but managed to miss out on top-four. A poor run of form towards the end of the season saw them lose ground as Monchengladbach pipped them to pick up that final Champions League ticket.

With a new season around the corner, Die Werkself have another chance to have a go at top-four, or even the league title. Unfortunately, they lost star player Kai Havertz to Chelsea as the German was prized out of the club. Kevin Volland also found his way to AS Monaco.

However, the club have acquired Patrick Schick in turn, as a direct replacement for their former maestro Havertz. The new signing will be under pressure to hit the ground running for Leverkusen, starting with a strong performance this weekend.
