Just months after partying ways with long-term manager Arsene Wenger, his replacement Emery Unai has also been shown the door. The Gunners are in a crisis, on and off the pitch and interim manager Freddie Ljunberg has been tasked with keeping the Arsenal ship afloat. It shall not be an easy assignment.

The London club are lying 9^th after 14 fixtures (W4 D7 L3) but it is their poor run of results that prompted the drastic managerial changes. Win-less in 8, the sorry Gunners have conceded a goal in each of the eight matches.

The poor run of form is spreading across the dressing room evidenced by Xhaka’s rants against sections of the Arsenal fans. Former tactician manager Unai might have downplayed the incident but it was definitely a tip of the iceberg and all has come to bare. Without a doubt, the Gunners have some fire-power in their ranks with Gabon forward Aubameyang firing from all cylinders this season.

The striker is solely responsible for half of Arsenal’s 20-goal haul this season and might be the only standout in an otherwise woeful season. It has not been enough and the spotlight will be on former defender and now manager Freddie; a baptism of fire or the genesis of a new dawn.

Brighton are on a 3-patch win less run, excusably though, against big names; Chelsea, Leicester and Manchester United. Before that however, they were regulars in the top half of the table and were fan favourites to rearrange the norm. It was too much to ask from Graham Potter’s side.

Now, after back-to-back losses, they find themselves at the bottom half of the table and will have to fight it out to regain their season opening form.

Their attacking front has taken a hit with the absence of key front-man Izquiero and it means that they will have to conjure up some magic to find the back of the net. They are likely to get past Arsenal’s weak back-line though in the form of substitute strikers Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster.
