After parting ways with coach Rafa Benitez who had guided them to promotion, the side appointed former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce. The magpies are short of firepower and have only scored 5 league goals this season, only one more than bottom side Watford.

Against a Chelsea side comprised of hungry youngsters, Steve Bruce will be relying on his defence to stop relentless waves of attack from the Blues and he might end up disappointed. His side has let in 11 goals across 4 away matches. They will be lucky to earn a draw at the Bridge.

Hudson Odoi returned from injury and is expected to start. N’golo Kante might also be available. Missing players include Andreas Christensen, Mateo Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek, Emerson and Van Gikel.
