Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey to miss Christmas spell through injury
At the press conference ahead of Arsenal's home game to Newcastle in round 18, head coach Arsene Wenger confirmed that Welsh holding midfielder Aaron Ramsey had been injured and could miss up to three weeks out of contention.
The 26-year-old is believed to have sustained a hamstring injury against Southampton on Saturday before their midweek game at West Ham which ended all square, much to the Londoners' disappointment, and for which Ramsey was left out.
The Gunners have five games to play this month, with four league fixtures and a Carabao Cup quarter-final tie against the Hammers, only to host Chelsea three days after 2018 comes and seven til their 3rd-round FA Cup tie at Nottingham Forest on 7 January.
Theo Walcott is also set to miss well another game with a groin problem, with the England international having made only three appearances in this league campaign.
