Both play in the Eastern Conference and occupy low spots at the bottom of the East standings (8th and 9th positions accordingly), but the "Revs" have held 18 encounters, while The "Black & Gold" have played only 16 and the gap between equals 3 points.

First they suffered from DC United which could keep a clean sheet and score twice at home, then a defeat by Montreal Impact with the 3:2 score on the score sheet, when New England team led the game by 2:0 ahead by half-time and ultimately lost it after three excellent attack which made the outcome in Montreal's favor. Now they have collected 19 points out of 18 games and it would never gladden Jay Heaps'men in any case.

Columbus Crew team have not won in four occasions as well because of two draws and the same number of defeats with the 3:2 final score each. Thus the team form Ohio scored 9 goals and conceded 10 in five recent clashes, but only five points were accumulated. The Black & Gold have advantage of 2 games in reserve and in case of winning this one they would drop New England team and take a chance to be in the promotion zone to playoffs.

We do see how Columbus tries to ascend in the Eastern standing, but they lack some stability in the defense which might have helped them collect at least more than two points for four occasions. We also have to admit The Black & Gold can make a score wide, what we saw in their previous encounters. We really hope that Columbus Crew's manager Gregg Berhalter will be able to adjust his squad to a better play against the Revs and therefore bring the team on the pitch in spirit of scoring many like we have already watched.
