Wigan well and truly drew the short straw in this FA Cup 5th Round tie, being matched up against runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City and not even benefiting from the lucrative gate receipts of The Etihad Stadium. Still, they will be hoping the DW Stadium provides some level of safety against the superstar visitors.

The Latics have suffered a downturn in form in the last week or so though, losing to both Southend and Blackpool and losing their position at the top of League One in the process. They are only a point behind Shrewsbury and have a game in hand, but Blackburn Rovers are poised to leapfrog them into the automatic promotion spots.

The hosts have already knocked out Premier League opposition in the FA Cup though, beating Bournemouth 3-0 at the DW Stadium after a draw away from home. However, an out of form Bournemouth side is very different from the unstoppable looking Manchester City.

The Citizens all but guaranteed their spot in the next round of the Champions League on Wednesday with a 4-0 battering of Basel away from home. This makes it seven matches without defeat and they have won six of those. The FA Cup has seen them hammer Burnley and pick up a more conservative 2-0 win away to Cardiff, but on neither occasion did they look troubled.

Wigan aren't suffering from any fresh injury concerns and should be able to field a full strength starting 11.

Yaya Toure is a slight doubt for the visitors, whilst Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane both remain out.
