Swansea City vs Manchester United Match Predictions 19/08/2017
The Match Is Over. Score:
0-4
Manchester United eased past West Ham United with a first 4-0 home win last Sunday as they got off to a convincing start and have so far proved themselves being real title contenders while Swansea City were held to a scoreless draw at Southampton, and it was luck they had not conceded and taken a point right away in the 2017-18 campaign.
A brace by Romelu Lukaku along with late goals from Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba helped Manchester United to their opening-weekend win over a West Ham side on last Saturday, and it was the Belgian striker who opened his scoring account in style for the Red Devils after moving to Old Trafford this summer.
Overall United look very menacing, with new signing Nemanja Matic making his first competitive contribution for the club he joined from Premier League rivals Chelsea for a relatively high fee of 40 million pounds. Aside from him, Mkhitaryan was superbly efficient claiming two assists letting team-mate Martial go one-against-one to slot home after the Armenian international set up Lukaku at his second.
What Swansea City achieved at Southampton on the opening weekend was more frustrating to the Saints as they had had 29 shots during the game, with only two hitting the target - which consequently resulted in a goalless draw - while Swans got their job done being short on scoring chances, never pulling the ball on target from their four attempts.
Of Swans' new summer signings, only on-loan Tammy Abraham featured at St. Mary's - and seemed to quite have settled in yet - but former Las Palmas midfielder Roque Mesa was left out and has been given time to adapt to life in the Premier League. Also, bad news came recently saying Gylfi Sigurdsson had moved on to Everton.
Man United: David de Gea - Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Daley Blind - Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba - Juan Mata, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marcus Rashford - Romelu Lukaku (4-2-3-1 formation)
Man United: Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young.

Swansea got a result at Southampton but they weren't great. There are unlikely to be many tougher home games for the Swans than their first one, against Jose Mourinho’s new-look United side. This year, 2017, only Arsenal and Tottenham have taken a scalp of Swansea, with the Swans banking 19 points from a possible 21 in their other home league games since the beginning of January. All the mentioned must prove to be a hard-fought affair both of the sides will face at the very outset, but despite that, United evidently look the better side to grab all three points at stake.
