Official: Frank Lampard appointed new Chelsea manager succeeding Sarri

One of the Chelsea football club's greats has joined The Blues as head coach at Stamford Bridge, Blues website states.

Having signed a three-year contract with Chelsea, Lampard returned to London after working as the manager of Derby County, whom he steered to last season's Championship playoffs where Derby failed to go up to the top flight.

He was a Chelsea player for 13 years and made 648 club appearances, helping win 11 major trophies for the Blues during this time.
