Copa America: Uruguay edge Chile as Ecuador draw with Japan

Cavani score only goal for Uruguay to win over ChileThe last two matches of Group C have wrapped up the 2019 Copa America group stages.

The game was heading to a goalless draw, and both sides through to the quarterfinals as things stood, when Cavani got the winner on 82 minutes to make sure his side emerge as group winners. It was his second goal of the tournament after netting against Ecuador in the opening round.

In the other game of the day, Ecuador and Japan played a score draw but neither of the two was a candidate to qualify from this group for the playoffs. Japan finish third and Ecuador fourth with two and one points respectively.
