Match status: 2020/21 Premier League - Matchweek 16
Kick-off:
Venue: Goodison Park (Liverpool)
The Toffees have won four league games in a row now, and will no doubt be looking to carry their rich vein of form into the second half of the season as they look to secure a return to European football for the first time in three years.

And they will face a staunch test of their credentials as they come up against a City side slowly rediscovering their best form.
The Citizens have been inconsistent at times this season, but will be looking to end the year on a high, and push for top spot next year.

Everton vs Manchester City Team News

Everton battled to a hard-fought victory over a Sheffield United side battling for their lives in their previous Premier League encounter. The Toffees were made to work super hard for their win, and were only able to break the deadlock via a Gylfi Sigurdsson strike in the 80th minute.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men are in a rich vein of form, having won four of their last five league games, scoring seven, and conceding just twice over that period.

The Blues are currently placed second on the standings with twenty-nine points from fifteen matches. And they are guaranteed to end the year in the top four, for the first time in fifteen years!

Everton have been a fairly decent side while playing at the Goodison Park this season, although it goes without saying that their results there could be even better.

Of the seven games played at home this season, the Toffees have won four, lost once and drawn twice. And a goal difference of +4 in those matches (15 scored, 11 conceded), leaves much room for improvement.

Man City’s slow, but steady climb up the Premier League table continued as they secured a routine 2-0 victory over Newcastle in their last league outing, with goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Ferran Torres proving to be the difference between both sides.

Pep Guardiola’s side have now won their last three league matches, and have lost just once in their last twenty matches across all competitions!
The Citizens are currently placed fifth on the standings with twenty-six points from fourteen matches. However, they could be much higher up the table, if they manage to win their game in hand.

Man City’s away form in the league has been average at best this season, and twelve points from seven road trips is something that is sure to have been giving Pep Guardiola sleepless nights. Although, he could find solace in the fact that Everton have equally flattered to deceive while playing on their home turf.

Everton vs Man City Predictions

Everton are on a brilliant run of form, but the absence of several key players should give Manchester City an edge in this fixture. The Citizens’ goalscoring record away from home has not been particularly impressive, while the goals have dried up for Everton recently,

Also, Manchester City are sporting the best defensive record in the league this season, shipping a measly twelve goals so far. Hence, we tip this to be a low scoring affair, with no less than three goals on the scoresheet.
Our Betting Tip:
Under 2.5 @ 2.34
