Match status: 2020 UEFA Nations League
Kick-off:
Venue: Bilino Polje (Zenica)
These two are considered minnows in a group boasting of European juggernauts like Italy and the Netherlands. With top-spot a little far from reach, they will instead set their sights on avoiding relegation from League A.

Playing so impressively last time out, Bosnia & Herzegovina managed to squeeze out a point from the claws of the Italians. With another game against Poland on the horizon, the Dragons will be looking to build on last Friday’s result to post all three points on the board.

Bosnia & Herzegovina vs Poland Team News

Some time ago, Bosnia & Herzegovina were nowhere to be found amongst European elite footballing nations. Fast forward a few years, and the Golden Lilies have risen from their ruins, challenging for major titles.

They famously qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup having breezed past a difficult qualifying group. Even though they failed to advance past the group stages of the tournament, they were deservedly proud to have made it to the grandest football stage.

Now, Bosnia & Herzegovina have grown to become a huge force to reckon with in Europe. Competing in Group A1 of the Nations League, Bajevic’s men began their campaign with a game against red-hot Italy few days ago.

Having bored supporters to death in the first-half with a real lack of cutting edge from both teams, the game sparked into life after the restart. Experienced striker Edin Dzeko drew first blood in the 57th minute with a well-taken goal.

Looking to defend their narrow lead, Bosnia threw men behind the ball as they kept things very tight at the back. With Italy pumping balls into the box, they soon found a route as Stefano Sensi salvaged a draw 10 minutes from fulltime.

Bosnia & Herzegovina were the happier of the two sides as the referee brought proceedings to an end. Prior to the start of the campaign, Bajevic reiterated that his primary aim was to retain his side’s place in League A.

However, that result against Italy must have given the Dragons some much-needed confidence to push higher, perhaps aiming for top-spot on the log. Coming up against a rather weak Poland side this Monday, the Bosnians have every chance of walking away with a win.

The White and Red looked totally out-of-sorts versus Holland in their opening fixture, as they struggled to make their mark on the game. Ultimately, a Steve Bergwijn second-half strike condemned them to defeat.

With talisman Robert Lewandowski missing from the squad, Poland looked clueless going forward. Given the White and Red’s weakness in attack, goals will be very difficult to muster. Bosnia will fancy their chances of going all out for the win in this fixture.

Bosnia & Herzegovina vs Poland Predictions

Poland will be distraught after losing their first game against the Netherlands. Looking to get off the mark, you can expect a strong showing from the White and Red here. That said, Bosnia are in better shape at the moment and likely to bag all three points, perhaps fortuitously.
