FC Schalke come into this fixture very cautiously as they consider it one of their biggest home fixtures this season. They are on a relatively good home run so far, having lost only once, to Bayern Munich, and in one of only two occasions, they have failed to score at home. Amine Harit is their top scorer this season with four goals and the Royal Blues will be looking up to their marksman to continue his goal-scoring exploits if they are to secure points in this game.

Eyes will also be upon Daniel Caligiuri, who has been involved in six goals in his last four Revierderby outings, hitting the back of the net four times and setting up twice. Schalke ought to take advantage of their fresher legs too in this fixture since Dortmund were involved in midweek football, which they lost.

Borussia Dortmund, on the other hand, come into this game at the back of a 2-0 away loss at Inter Milan in the Champions League. Lucien Favre’s men will, however, be looking to bounce back to winning ways, having registered an unbeaten run in the last five Bundesliga games.
